The story behind Smolaelan
“I grew up in Vanuatu. My parents have lived there for over 40 years.”
My mother started an NGO called ACTIV Association to help local communities reach global markets. The cacao farmers she worked with didn’t compete on price — they competed on quality. That decision led to chocolate named among the world’s best at the Cocoa of Excellence awards.
Smolaelan exists because island producers deserve a path to the world — not just the other way around. We work directly with Pacific growers, importing their products and sharing their stories.
